Many schools find it challenging to meet the profound needs of the students they serve, and Title I schools are often located in communities with few businesses or organizations that can provide support.
COR Houston strives to connect with individuals, businesses and organizations seeking to assist students. We receive cash and in-kind donations from corporations, retailers, schools, and charitable organizations. When COR Houston learns of organizations that offer services and items that we don’t provide, we share that information with staff members at our target schools who may benefit from that support.
COR Houston also partners with other non-profit organizations that serve economically-disadvantaged HISD students. COR Houston works with Community Partner representatives to identify needed items, then we deliver items to the Community Partner organizations for distribution to students and their families. Community Partnerships allow COR Houston to help more economically-disadvantaged HISD students to stay in school and focus on learning.
